Spinnen beim Dorfaktionstag in Eiershagen

Falls jemand in NRW wohnt, und am Sonntag noch nichts vorhat: Die Textilgruppe "Spinngewebe" ist mit Ihren Spinnrädern (und diversen andere Textilgerätschaften) am Sonntag (27.09.) auf dem Eiershagener Dorfaktionstag zu finden.
Ich bin zum ersten Mal mit dabei, aber ich habe mir sagen lassen dass aus dem Geheimtipp des kleinen Dorffestes in dem schönen Örtchen inzwischen ein allseits bekannter Geheimtipp geworden ist und locker 10.000 Besucher kommen werden. Der Ort ist komplett gesperrt und fast alle Bewohner öffnen Ihre Gärten, Höfe und Scheunen und neben viel leckerem Essen gibt es auch viel schönes handgemachtes zum Angucken und kaufen. Wir sind in der Eiershagener Straße 24 (ist ne Seitenstraße von der Eiershagener Straße).

Commentator explains that the 'dog wool' goes to make socks for the Forces; the coats of these dogs coats yield enough wool for 100 pairs of "long sea boot stockings".The hair that comes off is washed and laid spread out in the sun to dry, then carded by hand and spun into wool on old-fashioned spinning wheels. A woman sits in the garden knitting some long socks - they look rather fluffy and itchy, but I expect they were very warm. A girl shows us a finished pair and then poses with a fluffy pup.

Nadelbinden in Regensburg nächstes Wochenende

 Eine ehemalige Nadelbinde-Schülerin von mir gibt jetzt Kurse in Bayern. Da muss ich doch gleich mal ein wenig Werbung machen!

braucht jemand spinn-anleitungen?

ähnlich wie bei meinen nadelbinde-anleitungen im letzen jahr (davon habe ich übrigens auch noch welche abzugeben!), habe ich jetzt auch die anleitungen, die ich in meinen spinn-kursen rausgebe bzw. mit meinen handspindel-anfänger-sets verkaufe, in einer druckerei drucken lassen. falls jemand welche gebrauchen kann, gebe ich sie zum stück-preis von 0,12 euro plus porto (je nach menge) weiter. wer von euch auf märkten oder anderen veranstaltungen spinnt, kann sie ja vielleicht an neugierige besucher für 50 cent weiterverkaufen. oder wenn ihr eigene anfänger-sets mit spindeln verkaufen wollt, dürft ihr die auch gerne dazu legen. es ist ein DinA4 blatt, einmal in der mitte geknickt, also endformat ist A5.

rezension zu meinem spinnbuch - ich muss da mal was klarstellen...

Es gibt eine Rezension meines Buches "Spinnst Du? Na klar!" in der Karfunkel 117 (April-Mai 2015): Nett gemeint, aber ich muss da mal was richtig stellen: Ich habe nicht über das Spinnen promoviert, sondern Spinnen ist das Thema des ersten Kapitels meiner geplanten Promotion über prähistorische Textiltechniken. Ob ich die Arbeit aber wirklich irgendwann fertigstelle und abgebe steht noch in den Sternen.

It creates some odd capitalization and maybe even distorted sentences in the preview. I saw a screenshot from someone who uses Chrome (I don't know if it happens as well if you use others browsers). I don't know exactly how Amazon.de is serving the previews - and if they are interested in this strange matter, but I want to let you know to NOT use the "translate this page" option in Chrome if you want to look at the previews!

Es hat eine Weile gedauert, aber nun ist es tatsächlich geschafft: Ich habe die Druckdaten für die englische Version meines Nadelbinde-Buches eben an den Verlag übertragen, und es wird voraussichtlich irgendwann nächste Woche in den Handel kommen. Über Amazon.de wird man es wahrscheinlich erst mal nur vorbestellen können, aber nach einer Anlaufphase von etwa 10 Tagen sollte es dann auch ausgeliefert werden. Die E-Book-Version ist hoffentlich sofort verfügbar. 

 It took a while, but now it's actually done: I have transferred the print data for the English version of my nalbinding book to the publisher, and it is expected to arrive sometime next week on sale. Via Amazon.de you will probably soon be able to pre-order, but after about 10 days, it should be delivered. The e-book version is hopefully available instantly.

Das Buch wird bei BoD (Books on Demand) herauskommen. BoD hat Kooperationspartner in den USA und in Großbritannien. Diese können aber leider bisher nur in schwarz-weiß drucken. Das soll sich irgendwann ändern, aber bis dahin werde ich für den Markt dort zusätzlich eine schwarz-weiße Version des englischen Buches herausbringen, die hoffentlich in ein bis zwei Wochen auch erhältlich sein wird. Sie ist natürlich nicht so schön, wird aber dafür etwas günstiger sein. Sobald auch dort ein Farbdruck möglich ist, werde ich diese Version dann wieder vom Markt nehmen.

The book will be published by BoD (Books on Demand). BoD has partners in the US and in the UK. Unfortunately they can only print in black and white. This is expected to change someday, but until then I'm going to bring out a black and white version of the English book there as well, which will hopefully be available in one to two weeks. It is of course not as nice to look at, but it will be somewhat cheaper. As soon as color printing is possible, I will take this version off the market.
